Career

High potentials and managers—a career through diversity

Diverse and international with Austrian roots

About us

Frauenthal is a diversified Austrian group listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. Its two divisions have a combined revenue of some EUR 900 million and employ a total of around 3,600 people. The divisions have a lot in common – broad product ranges, industry leadership in quality and innovation, leading positions in clearly defined market segments, and a strong focus on developing highly qualified employees.

Our HR Policy

Employee satisfaction and development are central to the Frauenthal Group’s continued growth. We want – and need – to have the best possible team of employees. Each individual should be in a position to realise their full potential, and we give them the help they need to do so.  Frauenthal offers an attractive, challenging and supportive working environment based on shared learning, innovation and continuous improvement. Every day we aim to be a little bit better than we were the day before – living up to the group’s motto involves building on the creativity and experience of every single employee for the good of all of our people and of the company.

Talent management

One of the core objectives of our HR policy is continuously identifying and training employees with leadership potential and the personal initiative required to drive change. Besides future potential, current performance also plays a decisive role, as reflected in a willingness to take the initiative, intellectual agility, a success-driven and proactive approach, as well as communication skills. We prefer to fill vacancies internally, since the company already knows the employee and what they can do. The same applies in reverse, creating a win-win situation. This in turn enables us to promote personal development and encourage staff to take on greater responsibility. The process is complemented by a wide range of training and development measures.

If you having any questions about working for the Frauenthal Group or the various divisions, or about the career paths and opportunities we offer, simply drop us a line on career@frauenthal.at—We look forward to hearing from you!

Employee Satisfaction

The Frauenthal Group is a performance-driven company, so achieving the group’s objectives and safeguarding its success are directly related to the motivation, development and ambition of our managers and staff. The performance and development review is a platform for discussing performance-related expectations and giving and receiving feedback.

One of the Frauenthal Group’s most important objectives is ensuring employee satisfaction. Employee surveys on this issue are carried out regularly by external consultants and the results have been extremely satisfactory. However, in keeping with our motto that the best is the enemy of the good, we do not rest on our laurels. Instead, we look to address any areas where we find room for improvement, which primarily means communication and management conduct. The satisfaction and dedication of our staff are essential for the group’s continued development.

Frauenthal has an outstanding reputation when it comes to human resource management. For instance, SHT has been accredited under the Investors in People (IIP) standard and has obtained state accredited training provider status. The company is also a winner of the Austrian KnewLEDGE prize. All of this underlines the group’s strong focus on personnel development and its commitment to being an attractive employer.

Staff Development

Every group employee who wishes to take their career to the next level will be supported in line with their potential and personal motivation. Our successor planning provides the necessary basis for this. The support we give is tailored to the employee’s personal situation – for instance, many staff members who have recently started families are currently looking to strike a balance between work and family commitments.

In-house training

Our training initiatives enable trainees and apprentices to achieve the status of internal experts. The courses offer an insight into the group’s core day-to-day activities, as well as promoting an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong customer focus. Needs-based training and development programmes also take place at divisional and plant level. These include the SHT Academy, which has been running training courses for staff at all levels of the organisation since autumn 2007, and has made a significant contribution to the company’s strong performance. A number of former trainees and apprentices are now driving the company’s growth, and have embarked on expert or managerial careers with the help of targeted development initiatives.

Career paths and perspectives

The group uses a number of innovative HR development tools to ensure the effective development of our people. These tools play a significant part in the following career paths:

Trainee programme

The trainee programme has been an integral component of our development initiatives for up-and-coming managers. It gives dedicated new recruits the chance to find out more about the group’s wide-ranging operations and gather initial experience in the course of various projects.

Expert career

The expert career path is backed up by systematic career planning. Covering a range of levels from junior through to senior, the responsibilities and requirements for experts are clearly defined, with comprehensive support in the development of specialist and soft skills. Experts are central to the production process, ensuring the long-term success of our products and services, meaning that YOUR development and YOUR standing in the company are particularly important to us.

Project career

Would you like to take on additional responsibility and work in an interdisciplinary environment? Then we have just what you’re looking for! As a project manager, you will be responsible for initiating projects, putting together your team and bringing the project to a successful conclusion, with a focus on efficiency and customer benefits.

Managers flourish in line with these responsibilities and as a result of effective training and development programmes. We smooth your career path by offering a variety of personal development methods, group-wide networks, and the transfer of skills and responsibilities.
