Zero Emission Transport
Frauenthal Trade Group is the only major wholesaler in the industry participating in the innovative pilot project "Zero Emission Transport" by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO). The 32 participants commit to conducting their trips in the first and second districts of Vienna largely with emission-free vehicles starting from summer 2024. This initiative demonstrates that CO2-free transport in urban areas is possible.
As a market leader, Frauenthal moves countless cubic meters of goods across Austria every day. Therefore, it makes sense to focus on this business sector to make significant contributions to climate protection, improve quality of life, and reduce CO2 emissions.
Frauenthal is proud to incorporate this new project for sustainable urban development into its existing sustainability initiatives, which include new trucks, upgrading heating and lighting systems, optimizing production processes, raising awareness about business travel, intelligent route planning, using renewable energy at their locations, and expanding photovoltaic systems.
At the kick-off event, Hannes Altmann, Head of Logistics Austria, and Kathrin Kienmandl, SCM Project Coach and Coordinator, joined the distinguished group. Inspiring keynotes were delivered by the Rector of the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, Prof. (FH) Dr. Andreas Breinbauer, the President of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, DI Walter Ruck, and the Mayor of Vienna, Dr. Michael Ludwig.
